2019 Season build up

Kellett Motorsport plan treble Fiesta Attack

For 2019 Kellett Motorsport will make an assault on three different Ford Fiesta Championships with 3 different drivers. The Kells based team have been working hard behind the scenes to put together a package that will see them compete in both Ireland and the UK. An exciting challenge with a packed calendar is instore for this family run team which will see all hands on deck for the season ahead.
18 year old William Kellett will once again compete in the Keelan Construction Fiesta Zetec Championship for the coming season. After finishing runner up in 2018 the 3 times Motorsport Ireland Young driver of the year Nominee will be gunning for glory and hopes to take the top step in this closely fought Championship. The University of Limerick student will be driving an upgraded car this season and hopes to get off to a flying start on the 13th and 14th of April in Mondello Park. Testing has gone to plan and he will go into the season as one of the hot favourites for the title.
Dunshaughlin Motor dealer Barry-John McHenry has been part of the Kellett Motorsport family since 2011 and he will once again compete in the Mondello Park Fiesta ST Championship. This will be the Raheny man’s third season in the ST Championship and after showing great pace and finishing joint 4th last season he hopes to step it up and be challenging towards the front. His job won’t be easy however as joining the grid this season will be Erik Holstein, Kevin Doran, Ronan McHale, Alex Denning as well as all of last season’s front runners so the grid will be more competitive than ever. Barry-John is excited for the season ahead as Leo Nulty promotions will be running the class and a new scrutineering team has been put in place making sure that all cars are maintained as they should be.
The 3rd driver will be Alastair Kellett. The Kellett Motorsport boss and multiple champion will be competing in the MRF Fiesta UK Championship in a newly purchased Ford Fiesta Zetec S. Alastair won this Championship in 2016 and returns to the Championship after a new structure was announced for the 2019 season, The ST and Zetec S cars will run in the same class for the first time with the Zetec S cars getting an engine upgrade to match the bigger 2 Litre ST’s on the straights. This will see Alastair travel across the Irish Sea 8 times over the course of the season. This will once again see Alastair going against the top UK teams with the aim of coming out on top as he did In 2016.
The trio will also team up together for a 24 Hour Kart race in White River kart track in May and they will all compete at the Formula Ford Festival in October in Brands Hatch.
The team have some fantastic sponsors on board and without their support this could not be possible.
