2022 McHenry heads to UK for 2022 Airtec BRSCC Fiesta ST240 Championship

Barry-John McHenry from Raheny in Dublin will contest the 2022 British Fiesta ST Championship. The former Irish Dunlop Abarth Champion will remain with his team Kellett Motorsport for his first full season of racing overseas. Barry-John has been racing since 2006 and has been part of the Kellett Motorsport team based in Kells since 2011.
Supported by his loyal sponsors Dunshaughlin Motor Company, McHenry Car Sales Ltd, Carzone, Kellett Motors, Dunshaughlin Motors and JH Autobody he plans to take on all 7 weekends with 18 Races threw out the UK. Barry-John is no stranger to Fiesta ST’s having previously raced the older model in the Irish series over the last 4 seasons, He was a regular podium finisher and finished 4th in the Championship twice and fifth last time out in 2020. This season he will be racing the newer generation Fiesta ST which packs a punch with its 1.6 Turbo engine producing 240BHP and over 300ft pounds of torque running on 18” Slick tyres.
Barry-John is aware of the mammoth task in hand with some of the UK’s top teams competing on Britain’s best tracks. Kellett Motorsport will run a two-car team with Barry-John’s team mate being Multiple Saloon car Champion and Former UK ST Champion Alister Kellett. Alister is also Barry-John’s team boss so the two have a fantastic working relationship. They are both looking forward to a fantastic season ahead.
When Barry-John was offered the chance to do a full season in the UK by the team he immediately agreed a deal, It has been long time goal to do a top British Championship said the First ever Sean Kelly Future Classic winner. Barry-John who runs his Motor Dealership in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath has spent most of his racing life in One make series and is thriving for the opportunity on the bigger stage.
